Online event of The Future of Work on the topic “Human Dignity in the Workplace”

Future of Work March 16, 2021
Invitation_16.03

Workplaces are often associated with different forms of discrimination, sexism, abuse of power, mobbing. Dependency relationships intensify and “normalize” such phenomena. Without a culture promoting respect of human dignity in the workplace, such practices can easily thrive. Women are most suffering from this type of behavior, but men also can be victims as well as people perceived as “different” because of their ethnic origin, religious faith, or sexual identity. Although the levels of intensity of these phenomena in the European Union vary from country to country, there is no country which has eliminated them completely.

As identifying or denouncing abuse of power in the workplace is not enough, we wish to go a step further and highlight possible measures and policy proposals that will put an end to it. Thus, a European dialogue that can promote best practices is crucial. This debate concerns us all. We imagine a Future of Work with a culture of respect of human dignity.
